Moth had found brief relief with a small health potion; then he took flight. Life was still on the beach, but he could tell she was weakening! The sea was frothing as if filled with rage like the Goddess who had emerged from it. Her roars echoed down the beach. He had fought her earlier and was ready to finish what they had started. Just down below, Phoenix and Rieka glared at the Sea Goddess on top of the hill-like sand. They could tell she was weakening, but that doesn't mean Life can't fight back against everything she has. Hell, Life is still lashing at their brethren with her remaining working limbs and head! "She doesn't quite, does she..." Phoenix growled as she looked up at her friend and packmate, Rieka. "What do you expect from an immortal brain-dead fish that thrives for fights?" The brown viper replied in annoyance at seeing the said deity, her winter white eyes studying Life's movements, studying ways to strike. "We need some kind of strategy to wounded her more." Moth
Life finally surfaced on the beach; while many of the aquatics had been full of rage, she seemed to have none; excitement instead filled her as she roared for them to face her. Moth and Maddox were on the beach watching as she arrived. They had crossed paths on the battlefield. Moth snarled as he watched the massive Goddess. She was frightening to behold. "I am going to join the fight. I will see you again after." He said to the prairie rook, who nodded. Moth took flight, gliding above the beach towards her. His heart raced; he wasn't the largest Aerial and wasn't sure he would do much. Amphis stood on the sandy ground as he watched Life rising out of the ocean waters; both his golden eyes widened in fear; there were even doubts starting to cloud his mind. How is his kind going to defeat Life herself? She's massive and she could easily crush his kind at ease! Why couldn't she see the suffering and pain she was causing and stop this war!? Amphis was brave enough to face his father and
The battle raged on at the surf. Leon rested in a patch of beach grass after his fight with Galadriel. Sauce had given him and Rieka healing potions and told them to rest. He had found a sheltered spot to recover. He looked at his leg; Galadriel's bite had left a large wound, but with the boost of the healing potion, it had scabbed over. He flexed it, checking if he could walk. He scowled, remembering his near-death experiences with Moray and Galadriel. This was the most challenging fight they had faced, but he felt unprepared. He wondered if he had gone soft since joining the sanctuary... since being with Phoenix. They took things day by day. He cared for her more than anyone. Sometimes, he wondered if he loved her, but he also loved fighting. He was a champion of the underground arena, fighting for life and pride. He enjoyed the thrill, the challenge, the gore. Now, the idea of reveling in it... had lost its shine. Was it because he had something to lose? He shook his head
The Carnival of Life had once celebrated Life, where kukuris would display their talents and bravery to their goddess. But everything had changed. The battle between the two goddesses was inevitable, and Death had helped them train. Peaches had prepared herself for this day but felt doubtful and scared. She was not a warrior but an adventurer. She scanned the beach, where violence and carnage were everywhere. She looked for anyone who needed her assistance and prayed to make it out alive. At some distance, Amphisbene, also known as Amphis by his soon-to-be-mate Rieka and her pack, was hiding behind some rather large rocks. He was on the lookout, not just for danger, but also for someone... His four golden eyes looked at the injured, where the healers did their best to help the wounded inflicted by their aquatic cousins. Those who couldn't fight would also help and protect the young. As much as Amphis wanted to help them... he just couldn't. One head looked down at his paws with a sad
Moray and Wraith had been beaten; they slipped back into the waves. Leon stood on the shore, fangs bared, his crimson coat stained with blood from the first battle. His black eyes scanned the beach; the fight was still on. The black water erupted as an aquatic burst from the waves. Galadriel's long fins trailed behind her as she snapped her teeth at the air where he had stood moments ago. He had learned not to fight them in the water; he stayed on the shore, low and fierce. Her gaze flew to his missing tail; she chuckled gutturally. "What a scar," she rumbled. "I never forget one like that." She flexed her left shoulder as she moved closer to him. "I never forget them." He smirked back. "Those are quite nice," he mused. "I hope we can give each other some." She laughed heartily, thrilled that the common rook shared her enthusiasm. Leon hoped another one would join the fight. The crunch of paws sprinting on the sand perked up the female aquatic's ears, but before she could react, a
The ocean waves crashed as Leon stood at its shores, his fellow kukuri at his side. The exchange of words between Life and Death hung heavy in the air, their divine presence casting shadows on the sand before Life slipped back into the sea. The aquatics emerged from the water. They were an ancient lineage of warriors. It was known they were the largest kukuri species to have existed, but the tales couldn’t have prepared the crowd for their intimidating presence. Their skin glistened under the sun through the rain and mist, teeth bared in fierce loyalty to their goddess. Leon was not defenseless; he could feel the weight of his collar, meant to shield him and his loaf from the predators he faced to protect them. Usually, he did not notice it, but now its presence pressed against his fur, a constant reminder of duty. His crimson coat seemed to absorb both sunlight and tension. Death held her head high, proud and regal, her followers mirroring her determination. Leon’s black eyes
Staring into the small den Kira reached a hand forward. The injured Ku bristled at the offer hand and snarled. With a sigh she pulled her hand back, it was clear it did not trust her and she was not planning on being injured trying to get it out now. She looked around before deciding to head back home. After arriving at her den she couldn't help but feel guilty for leaving the Ku. It was clearly injured but she was no healer and she had no experience with the various animals living alongside her load. Osiris a fluffy dove with a Pearl coat and dark ribs noticed Kira hesitation at mealtime. Kira was a small dove, she was usually one of the most eager to dig into a meal, especially one that she had provided herself. “Kira honey what seems to be the problem?” Osiris asked approaching the her. Kira groaned before looking up to her. “I saw Ku today, it looked hurt but it wouldn't let me get close enough to help. I'm not sure I did the right thing by leaving it there.” Kira’s ears drooped

The hot sun beat down on the Savannah, grasslands have become dry and crunchy in the sand almost unbearable to walk on. Kira's loaf was beginning to run low on food, and with hardly any wild animals to hunt she decided to see if she could take some from the local farmer. Kira is small but swift and hoped that maybe she could take a small the Ngani calf back to the loaf without a fight. When she arrived at the pasture she noticed it was empty. Confused Kira walked down the east fence line hoping maybe she had missed the animals. after walking around the side, a sinking feeling formed in her stomach. They were always here it seemed odd that there weren't any, her loaf rarely stole food from the settlement. When they were desperate enough to do so it was considered a last resort. Some of her other loaf meats had also gone looking for food, the dry season led them to different locations or wide hoping at least one of them would bring something home. “Hey what are you doing here?!” a deep
